Welcome to my EVA Air's lounge review at Bangkok!
EVA Air is one of my favourite airlines and it has always been my wish to experience the airline's business class cabin, however the time to do so hasn't arrived so I have to settle for just the lounge access. This is one advantage about flying with a member in an alliance, you are able to visit the lounge of another member of the same alliance without condition, just provide the staff with your boarding pass and you are good to go.
This would be my 2nd time visiting EVA Air's lounge. My first visit was at Taipei Taoyuan Airport, I visited the club lounge, courtesy of my boarding pass of Hong Kong Airlines which granted me access as I was flying on the airline's business class from Taipei to Hong Kong. Here is the link to it.
Without further ado, let’s begin this lounge review.
This lounge along with the Silverkris lounge are my preferred lounges in Bangkok Airport (BKK). Comparing these 2 lounges, this is my preference for its slightly more elegant design and slightly bigger in size. Showers are included in this lounge and it is a good lounge to relax and freshen up before the long haul flight to Europe. I was fortunate to be able to visit the lounge during the off peak period and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and the delicious food I had. While this lounge is not better than the ones in the home base (Taipei), it gets what travellers need most and that is quiet time, good food and beverage and showers.
Location of the lounge
3rd floor, Concourse F (near to gate F1-F6)
Operating hours: 0600-0230

About the lounge
EVA Air has opened the lounge to cater flights not only from Bangkok to Taipei, also for 5th freedom flights such as Bangkok to Vienna and Bangkok to London. The aircraft operating on this routes would be arriving from Taipei so this lounge would cater for both transit passengers and passengers departing from Bangkok airport.
One of the common questions being asked is why EVA Air does not fly direct to some of the European destinations? Well, the airline does not have permission to fly over some parts of China due to political reasons, only China Airlines is granted the rights to fly direct to Europe. For Starlux to join in the competition would not be possible for now unless things change. For more information of this, you can check out Simpleflying's version of this story over here.
What does this lounge offer?

Welcome to EVA Air's lounge at BKK!
This is a passageway leading to the lavatories and shower rooms .
As I had limited time at the lounge, I didn't use the shower facilility.
At the end of the passageway is a business room.
One of the sitting areas in the lounge.
The natural light from outside certainly brightens the interior of the lounge.
There are both low and high chairs/tables for you to choose.
A selection of ice-cream and hot/cold beverages are available.
Another view of the lounge
There are usb and charging ports available at the side tables.
I can imagine how nice the interior is like during night time. (below)
There are blinds available if outside light is too bright.
The different types of seating areas.
Another section of the seating area.
The business room consists of computers and printers.
There are 2 nap rooms. They come with a massage chair and curtain for privacy and is a first come first serve basis in order to use.
In the lavatory, branded handwash bottles are provided.
I decided to have my meal at this part of the lounge, the "twilight zone" which reminds me of.
There are flight information TV screens located at some parts of the lounge, it is important to keep track of your flights as announcement will not be made regarding flight departures.
A little information about the airline
There are also tables near the windows for those who enjoy the view outside.
Unfortunately the design of the building does not allow plane photography from either the lounge or at the gate area.
This long table also has charging points.
The buffet area
Choices of both warm and cold food are available.
The hot food section consists of Asian style dishes.
Some soup is much appreciated especially hanging around many hours in air-con environment.
Some warm snacks to enjoy.
Cold beverages and snacks in this section
Light snacks are available too.
The selection of food may not be as as much as the Silverkris Lounge but the quality of the food is top notch.
The timing of the cities this airline flies to.
A good selection of dessert includes fresh fruits, yogurt and ice cream. Cold beverages are located at the lower section of the refrigerator.
I chose the classic ice cream to wrap up my meal at this lounge.
At the self service bar, there is a small number of alcoholic beverages.
What I had at the lounge
Citrus Raspberry Soda - I chose this drink as it is not available in my home country. It tasted ok but I prefer Tonic water.
I had the mixed beef and vegetable with rice.
In addition, I had the barbaque pork buns and taro buns (chinese style).
Finally after finishing the above meals, I had the beef noodles.
Magmum Classic ice cream to finish off my meal.
Once I was done, I went to visit 3 more lounges. Next review is Thai Airways Lounge, stay tuned!
Fortunately the lounges are not far from one another.
