Hotel Review: The Quarter Raychayothin by UHG (Bangkok)

Welcome to my last blog post for the year 2024!

You need to pass through this building to get to the hotel. (below)

Introduction

Initially I wanted to return to the hotel I last stayed and that is the Grande Center Point at Terminal 21 but because the price of the room was quite expensive, I decided to look elsewhere and this hotel caught my attention. Quarter by BHG has a few hotels around in Bangkok and this hotel is one of the newest at that point of time. Even though not all the facilities were opened at that time, at least the prices of the room were reasonable and I did receive an email about it after completing the booking process. It was not a problem for me, just as long as the room is comfortable and that's the most important thing. So without further ado, let's begin this hotel review!

Background of the hotel

This hotel which features 190 guest rooms is under the UHG group and was opened in the 1st half of 2023. The 4-star hotel offers a modern-contemporary design with some touches of Thai culture making the whole experience a cozy and comfortable experience for each guest.

The address of the hotel is 1799 Phahonyothin Chatuchak, Bangkok 10900, Thailand. You can click  here  for the map.

The distance between the BKK airport to the hotel is around 25 km.

The distance between the DMK airport to the hotel is around 10km.

How to get to the hotel from BKK airport?

From the airport, take the train from Station A1 (Suvarnabhumi Station) to Station A8 (Phaya Thai Station) and change for the Green line from Station N2 (Phaya Thai) to Station N10 (Phahon Yothin 24).

How to get to the hotel from DMK Airport?

There are 2 options to get to the hotel from the airport

1st option : Take the train from this station (RN08) to Lak Si (RN06) then change for the pink line (PK14) towards the direction of Min Buri (PK30) to Wat Phra Sri Mahathat (PK16). From this station, change for the green line (N17) towards the direction of Ratchathewi (N1)/ Kheha (E23) and alight at Phahon Yothin 24 (N10).

2nd option : Take the train from (RN08) station to Krung Thep Aphiwat (RN1), then walk over to the blue line BL11 station (Bang Sue) and take the train to BL13 station (Mo Chit) and change for the light green line (N8) towards Khu Khot (N24) direction and alight at Phahon Yothin 24 station (N10.

From the station, it takes less than 10 minutes to walk to the hotel.

You can either stop at Phahon Yothin 24 Station or Ratchayothin station as the hotel is located between both stations. However I choose Phahon Yothin 24 station as it is slightly closer.

Welcome to Quarter Raychayothin by UHG!

This is the main lobby.

The other side of the lobby (near the reception area).

Check-in process took less than 5 minutes and I was fortunate to have my room upgraded.

There are plenty of seating areas

The interior of the Deluxe King room

The extra space of the living room is very much welcoming especially if you have company. 2 television for each person and if you have to, there is a sliding door for privacy if required. So guys, please don't piss off your lady, otherwise you might find yourself on the sofa chair! :P

There is a small kitchen area.

A Sofa chair and a King Size bed

Charging ports are available at several parts of the room.

There is a place to store your luggage and slippers are provided.

Tea and Coffee Beverages with the mini-fridge located below.

The kitchen cabinet with a microwave and sink to clean up your dishes.

Besides the poor wifi connection, I felt there should be more hangers.

I was able to do some work at the working space near the window.

What do you think of the room?

I enjoyed some shows from the smaller TV screen near the sofa chair.

This is the translucent sliding door.

One last look at the room before I checked out.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel room.

The bathroom

This has to be one of the highlights of this room.

A nice view of the city while enjoying the bath. I did just that on the first night.

Toiletries are provided

You can also shower if bathing is not for you.

Body Wash and 2-in-1 Shampoo and Conditioner

A couple of water bottles is provided.

Beautiful scenery of the city

Look at how dark the clouds are. Later that evening, it rained quite heavily.

Do I recommend this hotel? Yes definitely.

My ratings

Location: 3/5
Hotel Staff: 5/5
Hotel Room Ambiance: 5/5
Cleanliness: 5/5
Bed Comfort: 5/5
Shower with bath tub: 5/5
Facilities: 3/5 (Not all are opened at that point of time)
Overall rating: 31/35
Percentage: 88%

Conclusion

This is a beautiful hotel which offers a true 4 star experience. At this point of time, some of the facilities were not opened so I didn't get to check them out, however I am satisfied with my 2 night stay for the comfortable bed and the bath tub offering a great view of the city. The wifi on the other hand was not very good as I had poor connection throughout my stay. I supposed this issue should have been resolved, considering the hotel was brand new at that time, there are bound to have teething issues so far that I can understand. If you have a lot of luggage, I would recommend going there by private car instead as taking the train can be troublesome for you need to connect twice and depending on the time of the day, it can be crowded and will be challenging to board the train especially during peak hours. Overall I give this hotel a thumb up and I would like to return to try out the facilities and restaurant since they were not available during my time there.

I like to wish all my readers a Happy 2025 New Year!
