Welcome to my hotel review at Sao Paulo!
Introduction
For this last trip of my South American adventure, I decided to stay at this hotel for 3 nights so that I can do some joyrides and also rest a bit more before flying over to Buenos Aires and from there I will spend another night before flying home via Frankfurt. The challenging part of this last few nights is to get ready for the time change as the time difference between here and Singapore is about 13 hours with South America lagging behind by this time difference.
This was my second time staying at this hotel, my last experience at this hotel, I had certainly made an impression on arrival! I arrived at the hotel, walking from the train station in total drenched as it started raining heavily during my walk over. Fortunately for me, no such thing happened and I took the bus shuttle over to the hotel, arriving at night in a clear beautiful weather in Sao Paulo.
Was my stay at this hotel better than my previous visit? Do read on to find out.
About the hotel
Sleep Inn Aeroporto De Guarulhos Sao Paulo is a 3-star hotel with 182 rooms located not far from the GRU Airport and the ride from the airport and vice versa takes around 10 minutes. This hotel is also within walking distance (about 15 minutes) from the Aeroporto-Guarulhos Railway Station and that transport allows you to travel to the heart of the city and other parts of the city so I would say it is quite convenient. This is suitable for those with an early flight departure on the following day and prefer to stay near the airport which provides free shuttle service to the airport.
This is the map of the train system at Sao Paulo
Location of the hotel
The address is 2655 Avenida Natalia Zarif, Guarulhos, CEP 07140-040, Brazil and the contact number is +55 11 5464-7700.
There are 3 ways of getting to the hotel
First: Taking a private taxi/Uber to the hotel.
Second: Take the hotel shuttle which comes every hour about 15 minutes past the hour and the operating hours is between 1500 to 0100 (3 p.m to 1 a.m). This shuttle service is complimentary.
Third: You can take the terminal bus shuttle from any of the terminals and alight at the train station. From there walk to the station and get across to the other side of the road and from there, take the escalator down to the ground level and turn right and walk all the way straight, you will walk past the public bus terminal, you should be able to see the hotel building ahead of you. Check the map (above) for reference.

My combined photos of this hotel during my stay in 2023 and 2025
This is the sitting lounge located just next to the reception lobby.
The hotel lobby
There are vending machines together with a minimart and a restaurant on the ground level.
I wanted a double bed but it cost more than this room type by quite a bit.

My meal at the hotel's restaurant
I had 3 choices - the fish, steak and chicken options and I chose the steak option.
The surroundings at the hotel area
This direction is towards the train station.
As I needed to complete my daily workout for my apple watch, I decided to walk around to check out the surrounding.
Mostly industrial area and they are related to the aviation industry.
This is the other hotel, Comfort Inn located just beside our hotel.
The Hilton hotel is located just a few minutes away from my hotel.
This is the entrance to Sleep Inn hotel.
The shuttle mini bus will stop just outside the hotel entrance and if you are booked on the hotel shuttle, do remember to turn up at least 5 minutes before departure.
That's all for this hotel review!

Conclusion
This may not be the most modern hotel, but my stay during the 3 nights was comfortable and with the additional bed in my room, I was able to sort some of my stuff out. Overall I was satisfied with my stay. The only shortcomings that I experienced at this hotel is the lack of water bottle and water kettle in the room as I had to purchase mineral waters from the minimart and also the lack of food choices at the restaurant so for the second night, I had to go over to the other hotel, Hampton by Hilton to enjoy my dinner, this restaurant offers a buffet style dining so I was spoilt for choices for the food there and it was an enjoyable experience. At least the room was comfortable and there is shuttle to the airport and vice versa is complimentary. Walking to the hotel from the train station is very much doable but do be careful of the surroundings when walking over as the walking parth is along the roadside and it is quite common for thiefs snatching your handphone from your hands especially if you are not guarded. Once they snatch your phone from your hands, their partner will sped up fast and it may be too late to try to catch them. This also applies to anywhere else especially in the city area.
Hope you find this hotel review useful!
